Abstract:
Presents a strength criterium for concrete based on triaxial loads rather than the usual monoaxial compressive strength, tensile strength, and shear strength. Prestressed concrete pressure vessels used in nuclear reactors are invariably sujected to multiaxial stress and the paper represents an effort to develop an analytical method to take mutiaxial stresses into account.
