Abstract:
Performance-based durability criteria are becoming more prevalent in specifications for concrete structures. A shortcoming of most tests used as indicators of potential durability is that significant time elapses between casting and testing the concrete. This article describes research carried out to develop a rapid test method for prequalification and quality control of concrete based on electrical conductivity that allows testing of the same specimen over time without disturbing its structure.
