Abstract:
In this study, the authors investigate shotcrete that is reinforced with steel fibers and partly substitutes ultra rapid hardening cement with silica fume. The results verified that the optimum substitution percentage was to be about 10 percent. The substitution improved bond strength at joints as well as bond strength between steel fibers and concrete at an early age, and silica fume substitution also reduced the dust concentration. It was found that the surface moisture content of fine aggregate should be greater than 4 percent to obtain the expected effect.
