Abstract:
The flexural strength and ductility of reinforced concrete columns incorporating high-strength concrete and high- or normal-strength reinforcement is considered. The results of laboratory tests on high-strength concrete columns subjected to simulated seismic loading are reported which examines the strength and ductility when high-strength concrete and high- or normal-strength reinforcement are used. The advantages of using high-strength materials for reinforced concrete columns are discussed.
