Abstract:
Wood formwork fires in bridges have special features related to the characteristics of the burning material, the age and type of the structural elements, and the construction phase at the time of the accident. Before totally burning, the wood formwork acts as a protective element of the structure, delaying the effects of fire. This paper analyzes several formwork fires, including damage description, structural assessment procedures, and the repair measures undertaken.
