Abstract:
Corrosion cracking is most prevalent in the Middle East due to environmental conditions. These cracks are typically live cracks that grow in width over time as the corrosion progresses and corrosion products build up at the steel/concrete interface. The effect of elastic properties of crack injection repair materials in the reopening of active cracks simulated by corrosion cracks was studied. A strong correlation was found between elastic modulus and extensibility of the crack injection repair material and the reopening time of live cracks.
