Abstract:
A new foaming agent and foaming process that can be used in the production of both regular and low density CLSM mixtures is presented. The foaming agent consists of an aqueous mixture of foaming and strength-enhancing components and because of its chemical make-up and the foaming process used, a very stable foam is generated. The foaming process requires the use of a relatively simple portable foam generator and pressurized water from either the water mains or the tank on a ready-mix truck. As such, foaming can be performed at either the batch plant or at the jobsite, thereby making it feasible for ready-mix concrete producers to supply both regular and low-density CLSM mixtures.
