Abstract:
Deals with corrosion mechanisms of marine structures as well as with considerations relating to the design of reinforced concrete structures exposed to a marine environment. The starting point in the considerations is to minimize the unacceptable corrosion during the designed service life of the structure. The paper provides a commentary and suggestions on the possibility of incorporating the above considerations for designing reinforced concrete structures exposed to a marine environment.
