Abstract:
Describes how a house built with 12 in. thick autoclaved cellular concrete (ACC) panels and 8 in. thick ACC block walls meets the energy savings and R values for the tropical Florida climate. The house does not require any reinforcement for temperature, shrinkage, or strength. The use of ACC for housing would promote affordable, good-quality homes for low-income families and encourage "do it yourself" construction.
