Abstract:
Precast prestressed concrete sheet piles and batter piles were used for the construction of a breakwater at Fisherman's Wharf on the northern waterfront of the San Francisco Peninsula. The three walls of the breakwater protect the harbor from waves emanating from the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, and help maintain the viability of the wharf as a commercial, recreational, and tourist center.
