Abstract:
Parking garages constructed of precast prestressed members are durable and suited for harsh environments, but are vulnerable to the same types of deterioration that are commonly found in cast-in-place garages. Site investigation of the garage found scaling and break-up of the topping slab, cracking of double tees, cracked haunches, and cracking of pour strips. Repairs were recommended to insure the integrity of the garage and to minimize future deterioration.
