Abstract:
The enormous advances in concrete technology over the past 15 years now make it possible to obtain ready-mixed concrete with strengths as high as 15,000 psi (100 MPa) in several North American cities. In designing structures utilizing such high-strength concretes, questions arise as to the applicability of traditional design procedures, which were developed for much lower strength concretes.
