Abstract:
Explains in simple terms the principles of statistical evaluation of concrete strength test results. Emphasizes the concept of statistical control and the importance of trend. Describes the use of Shewhart control charts and cusum control charts in concrete production. Illustrates the function of the V-mask in relation to the cusum control chart and shows the parameters used to construct it. The relative merits of both types of control charts are discussed.
