Abstract:
The CEB-FIP Model Code 1990 stress-strain relation for short-term compressive loading is valid for hardened concrete. Based on an extensive experimental research program, it is determined whether the Model Code 1990 can also be applied to hardening concrete. Some modifications are proposed by which a higher accuracy can be obtained when extending the short-term compressive loading stress-strain relation towards early age concrete. Also, a comparison is made with a more fundamental degree of the hydration concept.
