Abstract:
The principal objective of this article is to present the CEB-FIP moment-curvature relationship. This basic model is valid in the case of simple bending or combined bending and takes into account the effect of reinforcement, the effect of cracking, and the time-dependent effects (creep and shrinkage). This relationship and the derived simplified methods were essentially developed for the CEB Permanent Commission V, and were definitively adopted by the CEB general assembly in Paris, September, 1990, for the Model Code CEB-FIP 1990. A parametric study is presented that shows the influence of different factors on the curvature {psi} 1 in State 1-noncracked, the curvature {psi} 2 in State 2-naked, and the mean curvature {psi} m. Also, different simplified calculation methods are presented and discussed.
