Abstract:
This paper describes the basic conception, the design, the structural behavior, the constructive process and the aesthe-tic results of the new bridge built at the Spanish city of Valladolid over the Pisuerga river for an urban ring-road that constitutes a rather special structure. The paper doesn't deal directly with structural analysis but the main resistant mechanisms of the bridge are carefully detailed. Attention is also paid to the high performance concrete that we have used for the main structural members. A large number of figures allow the reader to follow the ideas exposed in the text.
