Abstract:
This paper describes several aspects of the Parking building and other structures for access or connection between buildings, all of them integrated in the New Terminal Area of Madrid-Barajas airport. The Parking building, with its special characteristics, represents a singular work, with capacity for 9.000 vehicles and an important core of lifters and intercommunication passages. It has an innovative 52.000 m2. ecologic roof, which represents an important step towards sustainability of the building processes. The work performed also included part of the connection tunnel between the Satellite and Terminal Buildings and the corresponding access to the different areas. These are also briefly described in the paper.
