Abstract:
The erection of the segments for the cable-stayed bridge required the use of the following pieces of deck construction equipment:- A crawler crane and a floating sheerleg, both having high load capacities.- Temporary segment support structures. They were 2 steel structures that allowed the next lift-in segment to hang up on the deck to be welded.- Self-launching deck erection gantries. Each gantry was a steel structure that lifted and placed the bridge segments while sliding along the deck.- Welding travellers. They were 4 self-launching scaffolds, which provided safe access below the deck.- Hydraulic jacking system for positioning of pier segments.
