Abstract:
The design criteria of prestressing, taken into account in the project of various high speed railway line bridges of the L.A.V. Madrid-Barcelona-French Border, are presented, justifying their use with the results of a parametric study on two typical main girder cross sections for these structures. For each cross section, the differences of sectional behaviour with a progressive reduction of the amount of applied prestressing are studied, and the structural and durability repercussions that are derived from.
