Abstract:
The Concepción-Puerto Militar bridge, with a total length of 1305 m was designed with two main spans of 170 m and 100 m, respectively for two navigation channels. These spans as well as the correspondent lateral spans, of half the length of the main ones, were constructed in prestressed concrete by the cast-in-place canrtilever construction method. All other spans were designed with prestressed precast beams of 42,2 m length. The whole foundation of the brifge is with cast-in-place cincrete piles of 1,8 m diameter. This paper shows the design as well as some aspects of the performance of the bridge.
