Abstract:
The building is located at the Olimpic Harbour in Barcelona, and its occupied by the meteorological Service and by MOPT's Coast Delegation. Its volumetric shape is a cylinder 33 m diameter, cut by two vertical planes at its lower midle. The structure of the building, which has seven floors including basement and roof, consist in an annular plan of 33 m external diameter and 9 m internal diameter. It is composed by flat reinforced concrete slabs supported by a structural concrete front wall, a circular line of inner columns and a circular line of internalcolumns. Besides, the front wall is hanged from the top roof by several prestressed beams, which are anchored, also by prestressing, to the internal columns and down to the foundation, that is a continuous slab over jet-grouting columns.
