Abstract:
The article describes obtaining a high-strength artificial porous aggregate from glass-containing waste of metallurgical industries. The developed technology makes it possible to expand raw material basis of manufacturing porous aggregates for lightweight concrete. The previous studies have revealed that granulated slags of metallurgical industries, which are a by-product, can be used as the main starting raw material for making an artificial porous aggregate. From the results of the research, bloating intervals of a mass based on acid and basic slags of metallurgical plants are determined. A technology has been developed for obtaining a high-strength artificial porous aggregate with specified physico-mechanical properties for lightweight concrete. The basic physico-mechanical properties of the obtained aggregate are studied. It was found out that the obtained artificial porous aggregate meets the requirements of the current standard. It is revealed that the obtained aggregate is 2-2.5 times stronger than the known aggregate of bloated clay gravel.
