Abstract:
The presentation will describe projects in which Tony Murray’s knowledge of engineering needs, construction techniques, and material behavior were a key to successful repair. Over decades of working with Tony, we learned the resourcefulness of his experience through his contributions to our concrete repair and rehabilitation projects. Projects that will be included: • the concrete slab roof of a tank for treated water storage on the verge of failure by punching shear • severely undersized column in the basement of an 18-story concrete apartment tower • numerous parking garage slabs suffering corrosion of reinforcing steel Tony’s insight in concrete evaluation and repair has lead the way for those of us who follow.
