Abstract:
Structural Concrete is meant to be neither seen nor heard. This changes when the concrete is the finish. Bugholes, lift lines, fins and ties may present a problem for architectural concrete. Polishing structural concrete to get an architectural finish can lead to issues when the polishing reveals the results of normal variation and dimensional tolerances. The topic will be presented using project examples reviewing specifications, submittal and actual performance.
