Abstract:
This document presents some results from a five-year collaborative and development research project performed by Laval University with the support of the Canadian Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC). The results include an environmental and economical assessment of the benefits associated with the use of integrated probes installed into the drums of ready-mix trucks. It is mainly based on the time saving resulting of knowing the slump of the concrete without having to perform the standard measurement. The benefits are also associated with the knowledge that the mixture is full mixed in case of a dry batching system.
