Abstract:
In cold regions, the concrete deterioration due to freeze-thaw damage is a common problem. To investigate the seismic performance of recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) structures in freeze-thaw environment, the seismic fragility analysis of RAC columns subjected to freeze-thaw cycles (FTCs) was performed by cloud analysis method. The effects of recycled coarse aggregate (RCA) replacement ratios and the number of FTCs on the seismic performance of RAC columns were investigated. The pseudo-spectral acceleration at the fundamental period was selected as the intensity measure for ground motions and the relative displacement ductility ratio was used as the demand parameter, which was determined by the static pushover analysis at different limited states (slight, moderate and extensive). The fragility analysis results show that the vulnerability for RAC columns with different RCA replacement ratios were almost the same before FTCs, and with the FTCs increased, the vulnerability gradually increased and became increasingly significant as the RCA replacement ratios increased. The fragility curves in this paper can provide a good reference for the seismic design and performance evaluation for RAC members in cold regions.
