            Abstract:
As the industry advances toward a general use of high-strength steel reinforcement (HSSR) with yield strength greater than 80 ksi (550 MPa), it is necessary to implement simple constraints and let designers decide when and if HSSR may benefit their projects. This study investigates the reliability of provisions for service-level deflection and bar spacing in ACI 318-19 in relation to the use of HSSR.
