Abstract:
Anti-segregation can be employed to avoid the segregation of concrete. Here, we present a type of polymer-based anti-segregation agent, which is the copolymer of acrylamide and 2-acrylamide-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid. The composition and structure were characterized by FT-IR, NMR, and light scattering. Compared with the cellulose derivative, the copolymer can improve not only the homogeneity and bleeding resistance, but also increase the compressive strengths of the concrete by 4 to 5 MPa across all testing periods, up to 28 days. A highlight of the admixture is that can also be used to restore the workability of concrete isolated on site. Finally, the anti-segregation mechanism of the copolymer was analyzed in this article.
