Abstract:
As a structural engineer you know the importance of timely, accurate answers to your design questions.Prepared with your needs in mind, Design of Structural Concrete will expand the capabilities of your mini/ micro computer. This new ACI publication furnishes eight mini/ micro computer programs applicable to the design and construction of reinforced concrete. Each of the programs presented offers a brief summary of theory and a flow chart to amplify the logic. A sample run is also shown along with a listing of the program. Design of Structural Concrete includes computer programs for the static design of rein forced concrete spread footings; analysis and design of uniaxially and biaxially bent nonslender and slender reinforced concrete tied columns in braced and unbraced frames; analysis of multiple cylindrical shells and folded plates; calculation of critical stresses for prestressed concrete composite beams; design of continuous beams and one-way slabs; flexural design of partially prestressed concrete beams; cantilever retaining wall analysis using spread sheets; and capital budgeting decision for concrete equipment replacement using Lotus 1-2-3.
