Abstract:
A novel portland cement concrete permeability testing system is described. The system consists of a pressure vessel that is modified to use two distinct testing methods: the hollow dynamic pressurization (HDP) method and the radial flow-through (RFT) method. The system can test a broad range of material permeabilities, which is important because production concrete varies widely in this regard. It is expected that this testing system will be useful for characterizing concrete durability potential upon further development.
