Abstract:
Environmentally-friendly concrete construction is a must in today's world of scarce natural resources, and diminishing disposal sites. Structural engineers must be environmentally conscious, and design structures that will last (sustainable), thereby decreasing the need for unnecessary repair/construction and consumption of materials. The reality of world-wide consumption of materials demands accountability in the design of sustainable concrete structures.
