Abstract:
Numerical investigations of the strength of L-shaped short concrete columns subjected to combined axial load and biaxial bending were undertaken for the purpose of providing design aids for the structural engineer. Three sample design charts are presented, from a group of 50 to be published in 1979. General principles for computing, mapping, and handling interaction failure surfaces for columns of all shapes are summarized.
