Abstract:
Integrally colored concrete is becoming more popular for tilt-up concrete construction. With careful planning and quality control, attractive and reasonably uniform finishes can be obtained. Integral colors provide a durable finish with low maintenance requirements and attractive life-cycle economies. Typically used with a sand-blasted or exposed aggregate finish, integrally colored tilt-up concrete provides a visually richer surface than painted concrete. The article provides tips for successful use of integrally colored tilt-up concrete and includes photos and case studies of typical projects.
