Abstract:
Summarizes a report on tests of 16 simply supported prestressed I-beams subjected to combined torsion, bending, and shear. One-half of each beam contained web reinforcement, the other half did not. All beams had the same nominal cross section and prestressing force. The length of the beams; the load and its position, the torque load, the loading sequence, and the web reinforcement were varied. The calculated deformations and cracking loads were in good agreement with measured results.
