            Abstract:
An axisymmetric finite element procedure is used to analyze the problem of a steel bar embedded in a cylinder of concrete in an effort to obtain quantitative information on and an understanding of the stresses and deformations that occur in the vicinity of reinforcing bars after transverse cracks have formed.
