Abstract:
Two special types of bond tests were conducted to obtain additional information on the influence of some of the variables affecting the bond char-acteristics of deformed bars in concrete. The location and amount of tranverse reinforcement, the type of bar deformation, the proximity of a bar rib to a transverse crack were major variables in this investigation. The type of cracking that was produced by bond was also examined.
