Abstract:
This report presents recommended design procedures for reinforced concrete members subject to torsion or torsion in combination with shear, bending and axial tension. The procedures are expressed in terms of ultimate strengths and ultimate loads. Included are formulas for determining torsional shear stresses for members of rectangular, T-, L-, I-and hollow box-sections. Stresses that can be carried by members without web reinforcement are specified and design methods for torsional reinforcement are given. The reasons and justifications for the recommendations are given in the commentary.
