Abstract:
Statistical methods provide valuable tools for assessing results of strength tests, and such information is also of value in refining design criteria and specifications. The report dis-cusses briefly the numerous variations that occur in the strength of concrete and presents statistical methods which are useful in interpreting these variations. Criteria are offered that can be used to establish specifications and main-tain required uniformity. An appendix presents a simplified version of statistical quality control procedures.
