Abstract:
This Report is prepared with the object of placing before contractors and their superintendents the why and how of winter concreting methods. Most modern construction organizations know how but very few know the why of curing methods specified. This sometimes results in fatal errors of judgement The scope of this paper is limited to concrete construction in ordinary buildings although the principles involved are equally applicable to other types of construction less difficult to protect. Concrete is often only an incidental part of many buldings and consequently is handled by organizations that cannot specialize in this material to the exclusion of other important items of the structure.
