Abstract:
The object of this paper is to present a ready means of determining the bending moments and shearing forces for continuous beams and frames of approximately equal spans. Except as indicated in Appendixes 1 and 2, this is not a general method of solving rigid frames, but a presentation of simple formulas and constants from which the designer of reinforced concrete can directly read maximum bending moments with due consideration for the influence of dead as well as live loads.
