Abstract:
Authors present results of tests on plain and re-inforced concrete to determine the effect of sustained on magnitude of plastic flow in plain concrete and distribution of stresses in steel and concrete in re-inforced columns. Part I describes laboratory tests on 200 cylindrical specimens, loaded in compression, over a period of about 3 years, to determine the of intensity of stress, age at time of loading, character of mineral aggregate, gradation of aggregate, cement content, water-cement ratio, reinforcef cyclic application of load, and moisture conditions of storage. Part II summarizes published results other investigations during the previous 25 years.
