Abstract:
A summary of test results of Series 3, 5, and 6. Series 3 covered tests of 153 columns subjected to sustained loading or used as shrinkage specimens. After I year of observation most of these columns were tested to failure in axial compression. The initial stresses reduced by creep and shrinkage evidently produced no effect on the ultimate strenath of the columns-Series 5 and 6 consisted of tests of columns having core diameters of 8, 12, 20, and 28 in., all columns being 7 1/2 core diameters in height. Those of Series 6 had 2-in. protective shells. The largest columns were 32 in. in diameter, 17.5 ft high.
