Abstract:
Describes the construction of calorimeter rooms the curing of large size concrete test specimens under conditions occurring within mass concrete. special apparatus, the temperature of the room is controlled to agree with the rising tem-perature of the hermetically sealed, newly cast, concrete contained within it, producing a temperature cycle identical to that in the Interior of large concrete masses. Knowing the specific heat of hydration of the cement is computed from such adiabatic temperature rise.
