Abstract:
butlines the details of a program of tests undertaken by the Bureau of Reclamation, on a scale never before attempted, to investigate the effects of size of aggregate, test specimen on mix proportions and size of cornpressive properties, and permeability strength, elastic of mass concrete. Some of the early test results and indications are presented. Use was made of test cylinders as large 3 ft x 6 ft, of aggregate up to 9 in. in size, and of extraordinary testing facilities including a 4,000,000 lb capacity testing machine.
