Abstract:
Tests were made on full size pavement slabs, using regular construction equipment. Several well-known types of high frequency surface vibrators were in-vestigated. Major indications were (I ) that with equal cement contents, vibration increased flexural strength about IO percent, (2) that, with equal water-cement ratios, vibration effected a saving in cement of about IO percent and (3) that the uni-formity of pavement concrete of l-in. slump was markedly improved by the application of surface vi bration.
