Abstract:
Oil well cementing is a highly specialized service; special procedures and equipment are necessary to accomplish the desired results. Wells are cemented to eliminate contamination, to repair leaks in pipe, to reduce the depth of the hole and to correct various well conditions when necessary. Paper outlines the different procedures and describes some of the equipment used. Some of the more fundamental problems encountered in well completions are mentioned and the methods used to correct problems are briefly described. .
