Abstract:
For a specific aggregates group, fairly accurate prediction equations can be developed, based on aggregate properties, for mixture proportioning and cor-responding mechanical properties of the hardened econocrete. The desired strength level can be regulated by cement content and water-cement ratio. The technique described provides an easy means of comparing the cost effectiveness of various aggregate sources, Optimum economical pavement proportioning for a given aggregate source can be made by regulating strength level. A quality control procedure is described permitting early adjustments in mixture proportioning to meet Specification requirements.
