Abstract:
Building a hyperbolic cooling tower shell, or veil, is comparable to pulling oneself up by the bootstraps; as construction progresses, the veil casting system moves upward and is supported by the tower shell. The tech-nique described is a modern adaptation of the process of jump-form casting.*
