Abstract:
At 664 ft (202.4 m) in height, the Trump Tower stands as the tallest reinforced concrete building in New York City. Both a concrete tubular framing system and an alternative study in structural steel were called for during the design stage. Concrete was chosen, and important structural elements include 8000 psi (55 MPa), a unique pinwheel shaped core system, two different series of transfer girders, and a wind bracing system.*
