Abstract:
Existing structures don’t always behave as they were designed to behave: This fact creates significant uncertainty for evaluating the strength of an existing concrete structure. A symposium at the 1984 ACI annual convention addressed this problem with nineteen presentations describing test methods, case histories, and statistical approaches in determining the existing condition and remaining life of a structure.
